Gaylord Tornado Disaster Recovery

Gaylord recently suffered catastrophic damage from an EF-3 tornado that had winds that reached up to 150 mph. Both residential neighborhoods and businesses suffered serious damage that will change lives forever. The following morning SERVPRO was ready to respond with all hands on deck in order to help those in need. We have been busy with both commercial and residential emergency board ups and tarp ups. This is imperative as it limits any extensive secondary damages if your home or business has been left exposed to any environmental factors. SERVPRO of Bellaire, Kalkaska, Lake City & Grayling's thoughts and prayers continue to go out to everyone in the Gaylord community.

Storm Response

With the extreme cold weather we are currently experiencing here in Northern Michigan, SERVPRO wants to make you aware of an additional service we can provide outside of our normal fire, water, mold restoration and general cleaning services.  This fall we purchased two large trailer mounted indirect heaters capable of producing up to 700,000 btu’s of dry heat that can be ducted directly into your building if the need arises.  These units are all self-contained with their own generator and fuel storage. In addition to temporary heat, we also have a 36kw pull behind diesel generator that can provide the needed power to keep your business essentials running in the event of a power outage. We want to give you some piece of mind that these services are available to you in the event of a power outage and or heat loss to your home or business.

Storm Damage

High Wind Storm Damage

Pictured above is a home that sustained storm damage after very high speed winds swept through the area. A tree had been uprooted and fell on this house which then led to secondary water damages. You can see the tree that led to the damage and edge of the roof that sustained considerable damage. SERVPRO was called on to tarp the roof, remove the fallen debris, assess the extent of the secondary water damages, and get an estimate for repairs on the roof. Roof Damage

Winter Storm Damage

With the upcoming winter season, make sure you know who to call if disaster strikes. Storms can cause a lot of damage to your house. Pictured above is a home that a tree fell on during a storm. We were called out to tarp and do work inside of the home after the tree had fallen on it. We offer restoration services that make these damages caused by mother nature easier to handle such as water removal and dehumidification, reconstruction, and catastrophic storm response.

Baraga Roof Torn Off

Catastrophic Storm Damage

A violent storm hit this Northern Michigan school which caused the roof to be torn off. The roof being torn off caused large amounts of secondary damage that also caused the water pipes to break and flood the entire school. The library completely caved in, classrooms became waterlogged from flooding and much of the school’s equipment was destroyed. SERVPRO was on the scene right away to help with the catastrophic storm response and performed full mitigation services, content evaluations, content restoration, electronics restoration, and engineered a temporary roof rebuild. This engineered temporary roof which was made possible by our reconstruction and building services, allowed for mitigation services to be performed and prevent any further secondary environmental damage.
